After receiving his medical degree from the University of Florida in 1982, Dr. Hannan did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown NY, followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Florida. Dr. Hannan holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.Since 1988 he has been practicing Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in Lee County and is a member of the medical staff of Lee Memorial Health System. Dr. Hannan served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine of Lee Memorial Hospital and Health Park Medical Center from 1992-1994. From 1997-1999 he was the President of the Medical Staff.He is currently a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the Catholic Medical Association. He is the current President of the Southwest Florida Guild of the Catholic Medical Association. Dr. Hannan is on the speaker’s bureau of the National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia, PA.
